Caregivers
For the ones who sit beside us, day after day.
A letter from our founder
Every family that's walked through illness or aging knows this person. The one who shows up. Who learns the medications, notices the changes, handles the hard days, and comes back the next morning to do it again. Sometimes they're family. Sometimes they arrive as strangers and become something no word quite covers.
My family knows two of them.
My mom has a caregiver who has been, in the truest sense of the word, a godsend — the kind of steady, patient presence that lets a family breathe again. And my great-uncle had a caregiver who sat by his bedside every single day for two years. Not most days. Every day.
That is not a job. That is devotion.
I won't name them here, because they didn't do any of it to be named. But they're the reason Caregivers is one of our five causes. Caregiving is some of the hardest and least acknowledged work there is — and the people who do it hold more family stories than almost anyone. They hear the memories on the quiet afternoons. They're often the last ones listening.
When you choose Caregivers as your cause, you're honoring them — the family members who carry it and the professionals who choose to.
For the ones who sit beside us, day after day. We see you.

About this cause
Tens of millions of Americans provide care for an aging, ill, or disabled family member — most of it unpaid, much of it invisible, and nearly all of it carrying a real physical, emotional, and financial toll. Alongside them work professional caregivers whose dedication rarely gets the recognition it deserves. Organizations supporting caregivers provide respite, training, community, and resources that make this work sustainable.
Where your contribution goes
We're formalizing our charitable giving relationships now, and we'll name our partner organization(s) supporting family and professional caregivers right here the moment those agreements are in place. We'd rather be slower and accurate than fast and overstated — especially about where your money goes.
