A letter from our founder
Some of the most important stories in any family belong to the people who spent their lives protecting others — and who almost never talk about it.
Police officers, firefighters, paramedics, dispatchers, and the families who wait up for them carry experiences that shaped everything about who they are — and that often go untold at the dinner table. They saw things. They carried weight. They served their communities in ways their own children sometimes never fully heard about. Hearthline exists to draw those stories out, gently and with respect, before they're lost.
My dad was a police officer.
He spent his career serving his community — and like a lot of people who do that work, he carried stories he rarely told. The hardest calls. The moments he wasn't sure he'd come home. The quiet pride he never quite put into words. Those are exactly the kinds of things a family realizes, often too late, that they never thought to ask about.

About this cause
First responders — law enforcement officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel — spend their careers carrying the weight of their communities' hardest moments. Many live with the lasting physical and emotional effects of that work long after their service ends. Their families carry it too: the long shifts, the worry, the sacrifices that rarely get acknowledged.
Where your contribution goes
We're formalizing our charitable giving relationships now, and we'll name our partner organization(s) supporting active and retired first responders and their families right here the moment those agreements are in place. We'd rather be slower and accurate than fast and overstated — especially about where your money goes.
