A letter from our founder
So many families have a parent or grandparent whose military service shaped everything about who they were — and who almost never spoke about it.
The stories of what they saw, what they carried, and what they came home to are some of the most important a family can hold — and some of the most easily lost. Veterans of an earlier generation, especially, often kept those experiences to themselves their whole lives. Hearthline was practically made to draw those stories out, gently and with respect, before they disappear.
For my family, service runs three generations deep — across nearly every branch of the armed forces.
My grandfather Job H. Clark was a career serviceman who spent his life in uniform — first in the Army, then the Navy, then back to the Army again. My grandfather Chester Swanson served in the Marines. And my dad, Richard, served in the Air Force.

About this cause
There are millions of veterans living in the United States today, spanning every generation and every branch of service. Many carry the lasting effects of their service — physical, emotional, and financial — long after they return home. Their families carry it too. Organizations that support veterans and their families do vital work, from health and housing to connection and care.
Where your contribution goes
We're formalizing our charitable giving relationships now, and we'll name our partner organization(s) supporting veterans and their families right here the moment those agreements are in place. We'd rather be slower and accurate than fast and overstated — especially about where your money goes.
